The location of Marae by Urbania is one of the finest in Costa del Sol. It is close to beautiful, unspoilt scenery with wonderful sea views. There is also easy access to many of Malaga’s cities. Beaches

Marae is near to many sandy beaches where you can enjoy activities such as volleyball and windsurfing. Watersports include jet skiing and paddleboarding. A quiet beach is Playa de Torremuelle. It is in a small cove sheltered by low, rugged cliffs. To the west is Playa de Carvajal. This is a much larger beach with soft, dark sand that’s very popular with families. Playa Arroyo Hondo is very picturesque with a shoreline of bushes. The sea is also noted for being calm at this beach making it good choice for swimming. An unusual beach of sand and fine pebbles is at Playa Tajo de la Soga. Many scuba divers like to explore the submerged rocks at this location.

Parque de la Paloma

You’ll love this beautiful park in the centre of Benalmadena. It’s popular with every age group and includes many pathways surrounded by mature trees and shrubs. You can easily meet the park’s parrots, chickens and rabbits who are free to live where they choose. There’s also a lake, picnic areas and cafes.

Castillo de Colomares

Located in the hills of Benalmadena is this amazing castle. It’s dedicated to the fifteenth-century, maritime explorer Christopher Columbus. It was completed in 1994 and is a fascinating blend of different architectural styles. There are fairytale towers, decorative archways and a tiny church to keep you enthralled for hours.

 

Benalmadena Pueblo

The Old Town is incredibly atmospheric. It’s in the highest part of the city and has buildings dating back to the seventeenth century. They are in a traditional whitewashed design with wrought iron balconies, wooden shutters and many window boxes filled with colourful flowers. The narrow, cobbled streets are pedestrianised and include gift shops and cafes.

Tivoli World

For almost fifty years Tivoli World has been the Costa del Sol’s most exciting theme park. It’s packed with roller coaster rides, traditional carousels and many more features. Try the scary House of Terror or the go-kart track. There are also entertaining shows of Flamenco dancing.

 

Calamorro Mountain

There are two ways to reach the summit of this mountain that overlooks Benalmadena. You can travel by cable car which takes fifteen minutes. Alternatively, you can spend about ninety minutes walking up one of the relatively easy pathways. Once you reach the top, you can relax with some refreshments from the cafe and admire amazing views of the area. Special features include falconry displays.

Sea Life Aquarium

You can escape to a wonderful underwater world in this popular attraction at Benalmadena’s marina. You can see turtles, rays and beautiful tropical fish swimming in a coral reef. Sharks are in a special Jurassic feature and there are also areas devoted to chameleons, lizards and playful otters.

 

Marbella

In just half an hour, you can reach Marbella. You’ll find exclusive boutiques and shopping centres, sophisticated bars and high-quality restaurants. There are museums and art galleries such as Pablo Picasso’s birthplace. But some of the most popular attractions are Marbella’s championship golf courses. There are around one hundred to visit including Los Naranjos, Santa Clara and La Cala.
